Taxonomy
Poikilosakos informis was named by Cooper and Grant (1974). Its type specimen is USNM 152619a, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM705a, Hess Ranch, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Skinner Ranch Formation of Texas.
