Taxonomy

Hellenites was named by Renz and Renz (1948) [Sepkoski's age data: S Prid Sepkoski's reference number: 524].

It was assigned to Ceratitida by Kummel (1952); to Orthocerida by Sepkoski (2002); to Columbitidae by Tozer (1981), Zakharov and Popov (2014); and to Hellenitidae by Kummel (1969), Ehiro et al. (2016).

Synonyms
