Taxonomy
Girtyporina maritima was named by Kiseleva (1969). Its type specimen is PGU 187/5 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cherepash'ye Lake, Artemov District, Primorye, which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in the Chandalaz Formation of the Russian Federation.
