Xestosia obsolescens
Taxonomy
Xestosia obsolescens was named by Cooper and Grant (1975). Its type specimen is USNM 148861b, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM702un, Split Tank, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian marine limestone in the Cathedral Mountain Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Xestosia.
