Taxonomy
Dyoros (Tetragonetes) lateralis was named by Cooper and Grant (1975). Its type specimen is USNM 152798a, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM707q, Clay Slide, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian marine shale in the Cathedral Mountain Formation of Texas.
