Australaster giganteus

Taxonomy
Palaeaster (Monaster) giganteus was named by Etheridge (1892). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Ravensfield Quarry, near Farley (MM collection), which is in an Artinskian marine sandstone in the Farley Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Australaster.

It was recombined as Australaster giganteus by Schuchert (1915).
