Stegochiton coxi
Taxonomy
Stegochiton coxi was named by Hoare and Smith (1984). Its type specimen is USNM 330887, a valve (Intermediate valve), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM720g, Hess Ranch Horst, Glass Mountains, which is in an Artinskian slope limestone in the Skinner Ranch Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Stegochiton.
