Taxonomy
Hercoglossa waringi was named by Miller (1947) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Eocene; Trinidad]. Its type specimen is PRI (unknown number), a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Bontour Point, San Fernando, which is in a Bartonian marine horizon in the Soldado Formation of Trinidad and Tobago.
