Cerithium javanum was named by Martin (1879) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; Indonesia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cerithium (Vertagus) javanum by Martin (1899); it was recombined as Terebripirena javanum by Skwarko and Sufiati (1994).
