Taxonomy
Pteroplecta laminatus was named by Waterhouse (1978). Its type specimen is UQF 68948, a valve (Dorsal valve), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is W1326, Karnali Unspecified, which is in a Changhsingian marine siliciclastic in the Senja Formation of Nepal.
