Taxonomy
Urasterella gutterfordensis was named by Spencer (1918). Its type specimen is Holotype R.S.M. 1887, 32 455A and is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ulrichaster gutterfordensis by Spencer (1950) and Owen (1965).
