Anglicornus was named by Flower and Caster (1935) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras D Fame-m Sepkoski's reference number: 299,524].

It was assigned to Brevicoceratidae by Teichert et al. (1964); to Entimoceratidae by Zhuravleva (1972); and to Discosorida by Sepkoski (2002).
