Taxonomy
Neochonetes (Huangichonetes) inflatus was named by Shen et al. (2002). Its type specimen is NMV P308157, a valve (Ventral valve, internal mould), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Anpaitian Section, Bed 2, which is in a Roadian marine sandstone/siltstone in the Yongde Formation of China.
