Paryphella caucasica
Taxonomy
Cathaysia caucasica was named by Kotlyar et al. (2004) [Central Research Museum of Geological Exploration (CRMGE) in St. Petersburg]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is CRMGE 13/13043, a valve (Ventral valve). Its type locality is Severnaya Ravine, Upper Urushten Formation, Malaya Laba River, NW Caucasus, which is in a Changhsingian marine shale in the Urushten Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Paryphella caucasica by Zhou et al. (2025).
