Taxonomy
Vascoceras polymorphum was named by Pervinquiére (1907). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Paramammites polymorphus by Renz (1982), Meister (1989) and Chancellor et al. (1994); it was recombined as Paramammites polymorphum by Furon (1935), Chancellor (1982), Zaborski (1990), Kennedy and Simmons (1991) and Wright et al. (1996).
