Taxonomy
Pachydiscus rollandi was named by Peron (1890). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Thomasites rollandi by Kennedy et al. (1987), Kennedy and Simmons (1991), Chancellor et al. (1994), Ayoub-Hannaa and Fürsich (2012) and Zaoui et al. (2024).
