Taxonomy
Blanfordinia lunwalensis was named by Reed (1944). It is the type species of Blanfordinia.

It was recombined as Cyrtorostra lunwalensis by Nakazawa and Newell (1968), Nakazawa (1981), Kushnar (1986).
