Taxonomy
Aucella terebratuloides was named by Lahusen (1888). It is not a trace fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Aucella piochii by Imlay (1959); it was recombined as Buchia terebratuloides by Spath (1947) and Jones et al. (1969).
