Karapadites besairieri was named by Collignon (1954) [DISTRIBUTION: Santonian-Campanian; southern Africa.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Kossmaticeras (Karapadites) besairieri by Kennedy and Klinger (1985).
