Ammonites melchioris was named by Tietze (1872) [DISTRIBUTION: Aptian; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Melchiorites melchioris by Renz (1982), Landra et al. (2000), Szives (2007), Raisossadat (2024).
