Taxonomy
Ammonites seranonis was named by d'Orbigny (1841) [DISTRIBUTION: Aptian; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Silesites.

It was recombined as Silesites seranonis by Landra et al. (2000), Vasicek et al. (2013).
