Taxonomy
Permundaria perplexa was named by Sone and Mohd Shafeea Leman (2005) [Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia]. Its type specimen is UMF-F564, a valve (Ventral valve), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Bera south outcrop (BF1), which is in a Wordian offshore siltstone in the Bera Formation of Malaysia.
