Taxonomy
Adrianites insignis was named by Gemmellaro (1887). It is the type species of Neocrimites (Sosiocrimites).

It was recombined as Agathiceras insignis by de Gregorio (1930); it was recombined as Sosiocrimites insignis by Vasicek and Kullmann (1988), Leonova (2002), Leonova and Boiko (2015).
