Ammonites arausionensis was named by Hébert and Munier-Chalmas (1875) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenomanian; Cosmopolitan.]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Hyphoplites arausionensis by Spath (1922) and Fabre (1940); it was recombined as Hyphoplites curvatus arausionensis by Kennedy (1994).
