Mammites tevesthensis was named by Peron (1896) [DISTRIBUTION: Turonian; Europe, central Asia, eastern Asia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Fagesia thevesthensis by Renz (1982); it was recombined as Fagesia tevesthensis by Chancellor et al. (1994), Kennedy (1994), Barroso-Barcenilla and Goy (2009), Guendouz et al. (2022), Zaoui et al. (2024).
