Parasolenoceras was named by Collignon (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-l K Camp-u].

It was reranked as Pseudoxybeloceras (Parasolenoceras) by Kennedy (1986), Kennedy (1993), Kennedy (1995) and Ifrim et al. (2013).

It was assigned to Nostoceratinae by Matsumoto (1984) and Arkadiev et al. (2000); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pseudoxybeloceras by Kennedy (1986), Kennedy (1993), Kennedy (1995) and Ifrim et al. (2013).
