Georginakingia avicula
Taxonomy
Spirifera avicula was named by Morris (1845). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southern Van Diemen's Land (Eaglehawk Neck), which is in a Wordian marine siltstone in the Malbina Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Spirifer avicula by Morris (1845); it was recombined as Fusispirifer avicula by Clarke (1973), Clarke (1987), Archbold and Thomas (1987), Archbold (1995); it was recombined as Georginakingia avicula by Waterhouse (2004).
