Taxonomy
Abichites abichi was named by Shevyrev (1965). Its type specimen is PIN 1252/137 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dorasham 2, Paratirolites beds, which is in a Changhsingian marine horizon in the Ali Bashi Formation of Azerbaijan.

It was synonymized subjectively with Paratirolites mojsisovicsi by Teichert and Kummel (1973).
