Taxonomy
Lima permiana was named by King (1850). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Humbleton Hill quarry, shell-limestone, Durham, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate grainstone in the Ford Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Plagiostoma permiana by Newell (1955); it was recombined as Elimata permiana by Logan (1967), Pattison (1970).
