Taxonomy
Neocraspedites aguila was named by Anderson (1938) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Cretaceous; Pacific Coast, North America.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS Loc. 1353, near the bridge on the North fork of Cottonwood Creek, which is in a Hauterivian marine siliciclastic in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
It was recombined as Hertleinia aguila by Imlay (1957); it was recombined as Hertleinites aguila by Imlay (1958), Imlay (1960).
