Olcostephanus stenomphalus was named by Pavlow (1890) [DISTRIBUTION: Valanginian; Russian Platform, Siberia, Greenland.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Surites (Bojarkia) stenomphalus by Alsen (2006).
