Polyptychites semisulcatus was named by Koenen (1902) [DISTRIBUTION: Valanginian; Europe, Greenland.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Neocraspedites semisulcatus by Jeletzky and Kemper (1988); it was recombined as Tollia (Neocraspedites) semisulcata by Alsen (2006).
