Dichotomites (Prodichotomites) amundensis
Taxonomy
Ringnesiceras (Ringnesiceras) amundense was named by Kemper and Jeletzky (1979) [DISTRIBUTION: Valanginian; Greenland; Arctic Canada.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is GSC Loc. 93755 - Amund Ringnes Island [Deer Bay Fm], which is in a Valanginian marine siliciclastic in the Deer Bay Formation of Canada.
It was synonymized subjectively with Polyptychites (Polyptychites) polyptychus by Bogomolov (1989); it was recombined as Dichotomites (Prodichotomites) amundensis by Alsen (2006).
