Belemnitella diptycha was named by M'Coy (1867). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Dimitobelus diptychus by Doyle (1987); it was recombined as Dimitobelus diptycha by Doyle (1990).

  • Belemnites canhami was named by Tate (1880).
