Taxonomy
Ancyloceras flindersi was named by McCoy (1867) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Cretaceous; eastern Australia.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hughenden Station, Flinders River [Tambo Series], which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Australia.

It was recombined as Flindersites flindersi by Whitehouse (1926); it was recombined as Myloceras flindersi by Glaessner (1958); it was recombined as Myloceras (Flindersites) flindersi by Klein et al. (2007).
