Taxonomy
Crioceras nautiloides was named by Etheridge (1909) [DISTRIBUTION: Albian; Australia.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Aramac [Tambo Series], which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Australia.
It was recombined as Myloceras nautiloides by McNamara (1978); it was recombined as Aleteceras nautiloides by Whitehouse (1926), Klein et al. (2007).
