Taxonomy
Neocomites neocomiensis premolica was named by Sayn (1907). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Neocomites (Neocomites) premolicus by Klein (2005); it was recombined as Neocomites premolicus by Hoedemaeker (1982), Ovando-Figueroa et al. (2024).
