Taxonomy
Orthosuchus stormbergi was named by Nash (1968). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-K409, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Orange River Valley, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian terrestrial horizon in the Elliot Formation of Lesotho.
