Taxonomy
Allomorone burlesonis was named by Frizzell and Dante (1965). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Claiborne Landing, which is in an Eocene marine sandstone in the Lisbon Formation of Alabama.
It was recombined as Orthopristis burlesonis by Ebersole et al. (2019).
