Taxonomy
Anostylostroma metzi was named by Flügel and Flügel-Kahler (1975). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Kornelimünster, which is in a Famennian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Etroeungt Formation of Germany.
