Taxonomy
Neochonetes (Sommeriella) hardmani was named by Archbold (1993). Its type specimen is NMV P120350, a valve (Dorsal valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BMR KLB11, Mount Hardman, which is in a Wuchiapingian coastal siliciclastic in the Hardman Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Neochonetes (Nongtaia) hardmani by Archbold (1999).
