Taxonomy
Hexaclymenia was named by Schindewolf (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-m]. It is not extant. Its type is Clymenia hexagona. It is the type genus of Hexaclymeniidae.

It was assigned to Hexaclymeniidae by Bogoslovsky (1981); to Clymeniida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cyrtoclymeniidae by Korn (2006).
