Taxonomy
Actinocoelia verrucosa was named by Finks (1960). Its type specimen is USNM 127613 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM702, Split Tank, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Cathedral Mountain Formation of Texas.
