Taxonomy
Bisatoceras was named by Miller and Owen (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash-l C Step-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. Its type is Bisatoceras primum. It is the type genus of Bisatoceratidae.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Bisatoceratidae by Korn (2006) and Furnish et al. (2009).
