Changhsingoceras was named by Zhao and Liang (1965) [Sepkoski's age data: P Dora]. It is not extant. Its type is Changhsingoceras meishanense.
It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Cyclolobinae by Zhao (1980), Furnish et al. (2009); and to Cyclolobidae by Bogoslovskaya (1990), Leonova (2002), Korn (2006), Leonova (2010).
