Taxonomy
Christioceras was named by Nassichuk and Furnish (1965) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Christioceras trifurcatum. It is the type genus of Christioceratidae.
It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Christioceratidae by Korn (2006), Furnish et al. (2009).
