Falcitornoceras was named by House and Price (1985) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-l D Fame-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1042]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Falcitornoceratinae by Korn and Klug (2002), Korn (2006), Bockwinkel et al. (2013).
