Taxonomy
Gonioloboceras was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash-u C Step-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Goniatites goniolobus. It is the type genus of Gonioloboceratidae.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Gonioloboceratidae by Korn (2006), Furnish et al. (2009).
