Taxonomy
Crossotelos annulatus was named by Case (1902). Its type specimen is USNM 8308 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Orlando site, Noble Co. (Wellington Fm.), which is in an Artinskian terrestrial claystone/ironstone in the Wellington Formation of Oklahoma.
