Australotheca lanceolata
Taxonomy
Theca lanceolata was named by Morris (1845) [USNM 339489 designated as neotype, whereabouts of holotype unknown]. Its type specimen is USNM 339489 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Illawarra (Strzelecki coll), which is in a Wordian coastal siliciclastic in the Gerringong Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Hyolithes lanceolatus by Campbell (1953); it was recombined as Australotheca lanceolata by Malinky (2009).
